Kerala Election Results 2026 Live: Congress-Led UDF Ahead, Pinarayi Vijayan Trails

Thiruvananthapuram, May 4, 2026: Kerala Results Live – UDF Surges Past Majority, Vijayan Trails

Vote counting for the Kerala Assembly Election 2026 got underway on May 4 across all 140 constituencies, with early trends pointing to a clear advantage for the United Democratic Front. The initial rounds suggest a potential shift in power, as the ruling Left Democratic Front, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, struggles to maintain its footing.

With nearly 80 percent voter turnout recorded during polling, the election has drawn significant public engagement. While the LDF aimed to secure a rare third straight term, the UDF entered the contest looking to reclaim power after a decade in opposition.

As counting progressed through multiple rounds, the UDF widened its lead, moving past the majority mark and establishing a strong position in the Assembly. At one stage, the Congress-led alliance was ahead in close to 100 seats, while the LDF trailed well behind. The Bharatiya Janata Party remained a distant third, with limited leads.

Among key constituencies, Pinarayi Vijayan faced early setbacks in Dharmadom, trailing in initial rounds along with several senior LDF leaders. On the other hand, Leader of Opposition V. D. Satheesan gained an early advantage in Paravoor, reinforcing the UDF’s momentum.

Elsewhere, K. K. Shailaja held the lead in Peravoor, while V. Muraleedharan of the BJP trailed in Kazhakoottam. In Thrissur, Congress candidate Rajan J Pallan was ahead, with BJP’s Padmaja Venugopal lagging.

While the trends so far indicate a decisive edge for the UDF, counting is still ongoing and the final picture will become clearer as more rounds are completed. The results will determine whether Kerala witnesses a change in government or if the LDF can recover ground in the later stages.

All eyes are now on updates from the Election Commission of India as the counting continues, with the state’s political future hanging in the balance.
