Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad says his native village Vedurupaka played a key role in inspiring his acting debut film Yellamma, which reflects culture, devotion, emotions and rural traditions.

Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, who is all set to make his acting debut with the prestigious film Yellamma, recently visited his native village Vedurupaka. The visit has created a strong emotional connection around the film, as DSP shared moments from the village festival, local traditions and his bond with the people of his hometown. During the jathara celebrations, he visited his family house, interacted warmly with villagers and became part of the festive atmosphere. He also shared a heartfelt video on social media, giving audiences a closer look at the culture and memories that shaped his life.
Vedurupaka Inspired Yellamma:
Speaking about the village, Devi Sri Prasad said Vedurupaka is the birthplace of his father. He recalled how his father used to bring the family from Chennai to the village during his childhood so they could experience nature, rural life and the beauty of village culture. DSP said his family even built a house there to stay connected with their roots and people. According to him, Vedurupaka taught him the beauty of culture, folk art and divinity. He added that these deep emotions and experiences inspired him to take up Yellamma.

The video shared by DSP beautifully presents his strong bond with his roots while also introducing audiences to the emotional and culturally rich world of Yellamma. The film is expected to carry a rural, devotional and emotional flavour, matching the traditions that inspired DSP. Presented by popular producer Dil Raju, the film is directed by Venu Yeldandi and produced by Shirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Yellamma will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada, making it a pan-India project with strong cultural appeal.
