“I’m Like Your Son, Your Brother”: CM Vijay’s Emotional Oath Speech Wins Hearts
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay officially took oath as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in a grand ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The actor-turned-politician addressed thousands of supporters soon after the swearing-in, delivering an emotional speech that quickly went viral on social media.
Addressing party workers and the public, Vijay said he saw himself as “like your son and your brother,” and promised that his government would work solely for the welfare of the people. He assured supporters that their trust would not be broken and described the beginning of his tenure as “a new era” for Tamil Nadu.
Vijay also stressed that he had not entered politics for wealth or power, pledging to lead a corruption-free administration. He promised strict action against crimes targeting women, stating that women’s safety would be a top priority for his government. After assuming office, Vijay signed his first official orders focusing on welfare measures, including free electricity support, anti-drug initiatives, and steps aimed at strengthening women’s safety across the state.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, actors Kamal Haasan and R. Madhavan, along with other political leaders and film personalities, who congratulated Vijay on his historic victory.
Vijay’s rise to power marks a significant political shift in Tamil Nadu, with his TVK-led alliance forming the government after securing the required majority in the Assembly.
