Gautam Adani Gets US Legal Relief As $10 Billion Investment Plan Comes Into Focus

Adani Group Gets Major Legal Relief In US Fraud And Sanctions Cases

US Moves To Drop Adani Fraud Charges

The Trump administration has moved to dismiss criminal fraud charges against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, giving major legal relief to the Adani Group in the United States. According to court records, the US Justice Department sought to drop allegations connected to a bribery case involving India’s large solar power project.

US prosecutors had earlier accused Adani and others of being involved in a $265 million bribery scheme linked to approvals from Indian officials. They also alleged that Adani and his co-accused raised over $3 billion from lenders and investors while hiding details related to the alleged corruption. The Adani Group has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

LPG Settlement And Investment Plan

In a separate development, Adani Enterprises agreed to pay $275 million to settle allegations related to Iranian-origin liquefied petroleum gas shipments. US authorities claimed the company bought LPG through a Dubai-based trader while the cargo had allegedly originated from Iran.

The legal developments come as Adani reportedly planned a $10 billion investment in the United States, which was said to be delayed because of unresolved cases. The latest Adani bribery case update is expected to reduce legal pressure on the group, which has faced strong scrutiny from global regulators and investors in recent years.
