Ananya Nagalla Launches HIDI to Empower Women

Telugu actress Ananya Nagalla has launched HIDI, a clothing brand built around “Everyday Indian Wear” and women’s empowerment. She plans to employ an all-women workforce, offer stylish and comfortable Indian outfits for daily use, and explore franchise expansion in the future.

A New Venture With a Social Purpose

Ananya Nagalla is adding entrepreneurship to her work in Telugu cinema and social service with the launch of HIDI. The actress says the clothing brand will have an entirely female workforce, with the aim of creating more employment opportunities for women. The initiative connects her interest in social welfare with a business designed to give women a platform to work and grow. Through HIDI, she hopes to support women’s empowerment in a practical way while introducing a new clothing label to customers.

Support During the Telugu States’ Floods

Ananya has previously contributed to relief efforts during floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, donating ₹2.5 lakh each to the Chief Ministers’ relief initiatives. Her support has also extended to elderly people, women and children through various social service activities. She has carried out several initiatives in her mother’s name as well. The launch of HIDI continues this broader interest in community support, with a focus on creating work opportunities for women through the brand.

Everyday Indian Wear for Daily Life

HIDI is being introduced with the concept of “Everyday Indian Wear.” The range is expected to include fashionable Indian clothing as well as comfortable pieces suited to regular use, including kurtis. The aim is to offer outfits that balance style with comfort, making them practical for everyday wear. By focusing on Indian clothing for daily use, the brand intends to appeal to customers looking for versatile options they can wear across ordinary routines and occasions.

Aiming to Build a Platform for Women

Ananya has spoken about coming from a modest middle-class family and building her career through hard work and determination. With HIDI, she hopes to create a platform where women can find opportunities and develop professionally. The brand’s all-women workforce is central to that ambition, linking its employment model to its wider empowerment goal. Ananya is also considering expanding HIDI through a franchise model in the future, which could help the label reach more customers and create opportunities in additional locations.
