Bhubaneswar, July 27, 2026: Jyotirmayee Nayak created history by becoming the first Odia winner of Indian Idol, securing the Season 16 title during the grand finale broadcast on Sunday, July 26.

The 24-year-old singer from Bhubaneswar lifted the winner’s trophy after nearly 10 months of performances, eliminations, and public voting. She also received prize money of ₹20 lakh for winning the popular television singing competition.

Jyotirmayee competed against five other finalists—Anshika Chonkar, Manraj Veer Singh, Myscience Bosu, Suhail Sufi, and Tanishk Shukla—in the final round.

Tanishk Shukla from Jabalpur finished as the first runner-up. Reports said the other finalists were also presented with cash awards recognising their performances during the season.

Jyotirmayee’s victory was built on consistent performances that earned appreciation from the judges, celebrity guests and viewers. During the competition, she became known for combining controlled vocals with an expressive stage presence.
