Gold Prices Near Rs 1.43 Lakh: Buy Now or Wait for a Dip?

Gold Prices Edge Higher During Festive Buying

Gold prices edged higher during Karwa Chauth shopping, offering little clarity to buyers waiting for a meaningful change in direction. Around 11 AM on October 29, MCX gold traded at Rs 1,43,838, up 0.07%, according to the supplied India Today article.

The modest increase followed several largely steady sessions. While festive purchases supported interest in jewellery and coins, a small daily gain alone did not establish the beginning of a sustained rally.

The quoted MCX figure is a market reference from that morning and should not be treated as the final retail price of jewellery.

Gold Prices Face Global And Currency Pressures

Gold remained sensitive to the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate outlook, dollar movements and geopolitical developments. These factors can influence demand for the precious metal and contribute to short-term price fluctuations.

For Indian buyers, the rupee also plays a role because currency movements affect domestic gold prices alongside international market changes. The source placed the rupee near 95.25 against the dollar during the session.

Firm US bond yields and uncertainty about future interest rate decisions added to the cautious market mood. Festive demand could support physical purchases, but seasonal shopping does not guarantee rising market prices.

Gold Prices Show Weak Technical Momentum

Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, described subdued momentum in his assessment cited by the source. His separate market snapshot placed MCX gold near Rs 1,43,550, down 0.11%, after opening around Rs 1,43,670.

He identified Rs 1,43,000–Rs 1,43,700 as a support zone being tested. Further support levels stood at Rs 1,40,000–Rs 1,41,000 and Rs 1,37,500–Rs 1,38,300.

Immediate resistance was placed at Rs 1,45,300–Rs 1,46,000, followed by Rs 1,48,000–Rs 1,48,600. Support indicates an area where buying may emerge, while resistance marks a zone where selling could restrict gains.

An RSI near 38 and a negative MACD histogram suggested weak buying momentum at the time. These indicators describe market conditions; they cannot guarantee the next price move.

Gold Buying Depends On Purpose And Budget

For jewellery buyers with an upcoming occasion, affordability, making charges and applicable taxes are important parts of the purchase decision. Small changes in the underlying gold price may have a limited effect compared with the overall jewellery bill.

For investors, the session’s marginal gain offered insufficient evidence of a lasting upward trend. The technical levels cited were reference points from the October 29 assessment, rather than assured buying or selling opportunities.

The source outlined spreading long-term purchases over time as one possible approach to reducing dependence on a single entry price. This does not guarantee returns or prevent losses. Any fresh allocation should account for the investor’s time horizon, risk tolerance and existing gold exposure.
