Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has officially introduced Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman through a post-credits scene released alongside the film’s Hanuman Chalisa music video. The concealed-face reveal has sparked online discussion and teases Hanuman’s larger role in the sequel.
Sunny Deol’s Hanuman Reveal Arrives in Official Video
After the post-credits sequence began circulating online, the makers released the clip officially on November 5, 2026, the film’s theatrical opening day. It was included in the music video for Hanuman Chalisa, featuring vocals by Sukhwinder Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Mohit Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan and Kailash Kher.
The scene shows Hanuman from behind, his enormous silhouette framed against the sky. His face remains hidden in shadow as he takes a dramatic leap and chants “Jai Shri Ram.” The brief appearance introduces Sunny Deol in the role without revealing his full look, leaving audiences curious about how the character will appear in the next instalment.
Post-Credits Scene Sets Up Hanuman’s Sequel Role
The timing of Hanuman’s entry connects with the story’s progression. The first film focuses mainly on events leading up to Sita’s abduction, while Hanuman becomes central to the epic after Rama and Lakshman begin searching for her. In the original Ramayana and Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas, Hanuman is revered for his devotion to Rama and plays a crucial part in locating Sita and helping the army confront Ravana.
By placing his introduction after the credits, the filmmakers offer a preview of the character’s importance in the second part. The scene has also fuelled online speculation, particularly because it gives viewers a glimpse of Hanuman’s scale and presence while holding back Deol’s face and full appearance.
Star-Studded Cast and Production
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as Ravana. Its music brings together AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, whose score supports the epic’s large-scale presentation. Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is jointly produced by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, under producers Namit Malhotra and Yash, respectively.
The film received a ‘U’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with no cuts, and has a runtime of 195 minutes—three hours and 15 minutes. With the first instalment now in theatres, Sunny Deol’s brief appearance gives audiences an early indication of the pivotal role Hanuman is expected to play in the sequel.
