Ravi Teja and director Vivek Athreya are joining forces for Thulabharam, an unusual entertainer formally launched with a pooja ceremony on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Produced by Laxman and Srini Rao under Bridge Productions, the film introduced its title through a playful documentary. The project also gives Ravi Teja a new screen identity: “Crime Maharaja.”
A Pooja Ceremony Marks the Film’s Launch
The launch ceremony brought together several members of the film industry to mark the beginning of the project. VV Vinayak presented the script to the producers, while Chandu switched on the camera and Sree Vishnu gave the ceremonial clap. Directors Shiva Nirvana and Bobby jointly directed the opening shot. The event formally introduced the collaboration between Ravi Teja and Vivek Athreya, whose previous film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, was a major success.
The Title Reveal Becomes a Story of Its Own
The makers took an unconventional route to announce the title, releasing a “Title Documentary” that humorously follows how the team arrived at Thulabharam. Released by My Home Ram, the video turns the naming process into a piece of promotional entertainment, with playful moments and creative chaos reflecting the filmmaker’s distinctive style. The phrase “Nava Ravitejamu,” also featured in the announcement, points to a new chapter for the actor and adds to the title reveal’s light-hearted tone.
Ravi Teja Gets a New Screen Identity
Widely known as “Mass Maharaja,” Ravi Teja is being presented as “Crime Maharaja” for this project. The new moniker offers a fresh identity for the star and hints at the film’s crime-related elements, while adding intrigue to his pairing with Vivek Athreya. Priyanka Mohan and Anaswara Ranjan have been signed as the female leads. The film is expected to bring together crime, drama and entertainment, with the lead actor and director’s contrasting creative strengths at its centre.
Vivek Sagar to Compose the Music
Laxman and Srini Rao are backing the film under the Bridge Productions banner. Vivek Sagar will compose the music, and Theni Eswar ISC is handling cinematography. Filming is expected to begin shortly, with the makers likely to share further details in the coming days. For now, the launch ceremony and title documentary have introduced the project and its new identity for Ravi Teja, while leaving more about the story and characters to be revealed later.
