The pre-release event of Sumanth’s Mahendragiri Varahi brought the film’s team together, with Siddhu Jonnalagadda and chief guest Akhil Akkineni praising the movie, director Santhossh Jagarlapudi and the producers ahead of its theatrical release.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda Opens Up About His Special Role
Siddhu Jonnalagadda revealed that his association with Mahendragiri Varahi has a personal connection with producer Madhu. During their struggling days, Siddhu and Madhu had planned to make a film together and worked on the idea for nearly three to four months, but the project did not materialise. Years later, Madhu approached Siddhu for a special role alongside Sumanth, something the actor described as destiny. Siddhu praised Sumanth for building a career that allows him to choose films across different genres and subjects. He also revealed that he shares a crucial sequence with Sumanth, written by director Santhossh Jagarlapudi, which plays an important role in the story.
Sumanth Says Siddhu’s Entry Elevated the Film
Sumanth credited Siddhu’s presence with giving Mahendragiri Varahi an additional boost. According to him, the project had already reached a certain level before Siddhu joined, but his inclusion took the film another notch higher. He thanked Siddhu for accepting the story and praised his success in redefining comedy-action through DJ Tillu and Tillu Square. Sumanth stressed that Siddhu is not merely making a special appearance but plays a crucial character that helps unlock the film’s narrative. He also praised Santhossh Jagarlapudi for carefully designing and executing their key scene, adding that he often felt a divine force was guiding the project during its making.
Akhil Akkineni Praises Content and Filmmakers
Chief guest Akhil Akkineni spoke warmly about his long-standing bond with Sumanth, describing him as someone he has depended on since childhood. Akhil also appreciated producers Madhu and Laxman for believing strongly in the film. He said that in today’s theatrical environment, simply categorising a movie as commercial or non-commercial is not enough; filmmakers must believe in the content, execute it effectively and present it properly to audiences. Akhil thanked Siddhu for supporting a genuine content-driven film despite being busy with his own successful projects.

Akhil further praised Santhossh Jagarlapudi for his patience, dedication and commitment, saying the filmmaker had poured his heart and soul into Mahendragiri Varahi. He also acknowledged the spiritual element repeatedly mentioned by the team and predicted that the film would become a major success, expressing his wish to attend its success meet. With the teaser, songs and trailer reportedly receiving a strong response, expectations are high as Mahendragiri Varahi prepares for its theatrical release.
