Saif Ali Khan is reportedly set for a major reunion with Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment for an intense new thriller, nearly 25 years after the iconic success of Dil Chahta Hai.
The upcoming untitled film, marking a fresh collaboration between Saif Ali Khan and Excel Entertainment, is said to be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Though the project has not been officially announced, it is currently in the early writing stage and is expected to move into production by the end of this year.
According to industry reports, the film will be an intense thriller exploring themes of morality, ethics, and complex social issues. The narrative is expected to reflect a more grounded and thought-provoking tone compared to mainstream commercial cinema, aligning with Excel Entertainment’s content-driven style.
Saif Ali Khan is also expected to share screen space with a leading actress, though casting details are yet to be finalized. No director has been locked at this stage, but discussions are actively underway as the script development progresses.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan was recently seen in Netflix India’s Kartavya and has multiple projects lined up, including Haiwaan alongside Akshay Kumar and Rahul Dholakia’s historical Netflix film based on India’s first general election.
