The first board meeting of the newly constituted Andhra Pradesh Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation was held on Monday at Fortune Murali Park Hotel in Vijayawada. The meeting was chaired by Corporation Chairman P. Bharat Bhushan and attended by Managing Director K.S. Viswanathan, along with board directors and officials.
The meeting marked an important step for the Corporation as it began formal discussions on strengthening the film, television and theatre sectors in Andhra Pradesh. The Corporation has a key role in supporting cinema, television and theatre-related activities in the state, with its official mandate including the development of infrastructure, encouragement of film and theatre arts, and support for Nandi Awards.
Roadmap For Film, TV And Theatre Growth
During the meeting, the board discussed several measures needed for the comprehensive development of the entertainment industry in Andhra Pradesh. Bharat Bhushan assumed charge as chairman, while Chikkala Meher Ramesh Kumar took oath as vice-chairman at the Corporation office in Vijayawada.
The meeting was attended by board directors Y. Jhansi, Suman Talwar, S. Sivaji, Chadalawada Srinivasa Rao, Burra Sai Madhav, Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, Vivek Kuchibhotla, V. Samudra, K. Umamaheswara Rao, S. Venkata Krishna Reddy, G. Raj Venkateswara Yadav, D. Satyanarayana and Durga Prasad Sahu. Following the board meeting, decisions taken during the Extraordinary General Meeting were also finalized for submission to the government.
Nandi Awards Also Discussed
Special discussions were held on the Nandi Awards, including matters related to previously announced awards and the framework for future ceremonies. The board discussed procedures, recommendations and possible steps to ensure that future Nandi Awards are conducted in a structured and transparent manner.
