Ranveer Singh Faces FWICE Ban Over Don 3 Exit

Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Don 3 has triggered a major Bollywood controversy after FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor.

Ranveer Singh-Don 3 Row Escalates

Ranveer Singh, who was earlier expected to headline Farhan Akhtar’s much-discussed film Don 3, is now at the centre of a major industry dispute. According to reports, the actor allegedly walked out of the project before the shoot, leading to a complaint from Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment. The matter has now taken a serious turn after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.

FWICE Issues Non-Cooperation Directive

As per the directive, members associated with the federation, including directors, camera teams, lightmen, spot workers and other film employees, have been advised not to work with the actor on future projects. FWICE chief adviser Ashoke Pandit reportedly said that the federation sent notices and reminders to Ranveer Singh, but did not receive a satisfactory response within the given time. He added that Ranveer later replied stating that the issue was outside the federation’s jurisdiction.

Industry Divided Over The Move

The decision has sparked mixed reactions within Bollywood. Some industry observers believe the directive sends a strong message about professional commitments, especially when a major film is affected close to production. Others feel that the move may not significantly impact Ranveer Singh’s career, as he remains one of Bollywood’s most in-demand stars after the huge success of the Dhurandhar franchise.

Debate Over Bigger Industry Issues

The controversy has also opened a wider debate on the role of film bodies and unions. Many in the industry feel that unions should also focus strongly on issues such as worker payments, high production costs, rising ticket prices and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on cinema jobs. For now, the Ranveer Singh-Farhan Akhtar dispute has become one of Bollywood’s biggest talking points, with producers, workers and fans closely watching how the matter moves forward.
