Prateek Yadav Death Linked To Pulmonary Embolism, Doctors Reject Steroid Rumours

Young Man’s ICU Exit Turns Fatal As Doctors Reveal Hidden Health Battle

Five-Year Fight Against DVT

The death of Prateek Yadav has triggered intense discussion online, with many social media users linking the tragedy to steroid use because of his muscular physique and fitness lifestyle. However, doctors treating him have now clarified that the 38-year-old had been suffering from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) for nearly five years. This Prateek Yadav DVT case highlights how dangerous blood clot disorders can become when complications suddenly worsen.

According to the treating doctor, Prateek had been on blood-thinning medication and under regular medical supervision for years. Despite managing the condition for a long time, his health reportedly worsened in late April after he experienced severe chest pain, dizziness, and breathlessness.

ICU Admission And Sudden Decision

Doctors admitted Prateek to the ICU on April 29 after suspecting complications linked to pulmonary embolism. Medical staff closely monitored him, and initial treatment reportedly showed signs of improvement. However, on May 1, Prateek insisted on leaving the hospital despite repeated warnings from doctors and requests from family members to continue treatment.

Hospital sources said the constant ICU environment and emotional stress reportedly made him uncomfortable. His decision was officially recorded as LAMA, or Leave Against Medical Advice, making this a serious LAMA hospital case that later turned tragic.

Postmortem Rejects Steroid Speculation

The postmortem report later confirmed that Prateek died due to cardiorespiratory collapse caused by massive pulmonary thromboembolism. Doctors clarified that the report did not mention steroids or substance abuse. Bruises found on his body were reportedly linked to falls and the effects of anticoagulant medication, which can make injuries appear more severe.

Doctors Stress Importance Of Medical Advice

Even after returning home, Prateek reportedly continued medication under nursing supervision. However, his condition worsened in the following days, and he was declared dead at Civil Hospital in Lucknow on May 13, 2026. Doctors say this young man pulmonary embolism case also increases blood clot awareness and highlights the dangers behind doctor warning ICU exit situations involving critical patients.
