Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Donald Trump’s Unacceptable Rhetoric on Iran Crisis

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi strongly condemned the rhetoric of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the potential destruction of civilization in the event of a conflict with Iran. Gandhi stated that “any language or action that contemplates the end of civilization is unacceptable in the modern world,” emphasizing that the use of nuclear weapons can never be justified under any circumstances. He also reiterated that global leaders carry a responsibility to promote stability and avoid statements that could heighten fear or uncertainty.

Trump had earlier warned that an entire civilization could “die tonight” if Iran failed to reach a deal over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The remarks came amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region, with reports of airstrikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, remains central to international economic stability, making any escalation in the region a matter of global concern.

In response, Gandhi underscored the need for peace and diplomatic engagement, urging restraint and dialogue over confrontation. He highlighted that escalating rhetoric, especially involving nuclear threats, could have far-reaching consequences beyond the immediate region. Reaffirming India’s long-standing position on peaceful conflict resolution, he called for renewed international efforts to de-escalate tensions and ensure stability through constructive diplomacy.
