In a heartfelt message, he referred to the award as "a very special moment" not only for him but also for his family. Sharma also emphasized his continued commitment to winning matches for India, saying that he would keep striving to bring home more trophies.

In a video shared by Doordarshan Sports, Rohit stated, “Receiving the Padma Shri is a very special moment for my family and me. I thank the Government of India for this honor. I am also grateful to all those people who have played an important role in my career. My effort to win matches and trophies for my country will always continue. Thank you. Jai Hind.”

Rohit’s Glorious Cricket Career

Rohit Sharma has been an integral part of Indian cricket for nearly two decades, starting with his international debut in 2007. Over the years, he has etched his name in cricket history, particularly as one of the best openers and a reliable middle-order batter.

Under his leadership, India has achieved remarkable success, including winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, where they triumphed over South Africa. He also led India to victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy, further cementing his legacy as a captain. Despite retiring from Tests and T20Is, Rohit continues to play ODIs, and he is focused on participating in the 2027 World Cup.
