Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy used a religious analogy to criticise the Bharatiya Janata Party during a public address in Goa on Sunday, October 11. He compared the BJP to Raavan and presented the Congress as Ram, urging voters to unite behind his party.

The comparison formed part of his attack on the BJP and his appeal for Congress support in Goa. His remarks framed the rivalry through familiar figures from the Ramayana, adding a religious dimension to the political message. The characterisation represents Reddy’s partisan position.

Goa Voters Urged to Support Congress

Reddy appealed to people in Goa to defeat the BJP and vote for the Congress. His speech placed the contest between the two parties at the centre of his message, encouraging voters to rally around the Congress as an alternative to the ruling party.

The Telangana chief minister’s participation also brought a prominent Congress leader from outside Goa into the state’s political campaign. His appeal combined criticism of the BJP with a call for electoral support, giving the address a clear campaign focus.

Religious References Shape Political Message

The Goa remarks follow earlier comments in which Reddy linked devotion to Lord Ram and Lord Shiva with regional and economic differences. In the supplied report, he is described as associating North India with Ram worship and highlighting Shiva’s connection with poor and disadvantaged people.

His latest analogy extends that use of religious imagery into the BJP–Congress rivalry. By identifying his party with Ram and its opponent with Raavan, Reddy sought to present support for Congress in moral terms.

The supplied report also links his remarks to a planned Congress protest concerning the Chief Election Commissioner in Delhi. However, his reported Goa address itself focused on appealing to voters and challenging the BJP.
