Jr NTR’s Dragon Glimpse Puts Prashanth Neel’s Dark Visual Style In Focus
Jr NTR’s upcoming pan-India film Dragon has become a major talking point after its first glimpse was released ahead of the actor’s birthday. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film presents Jr NTR in a fierce new avatar as Luger, a cold and violent assassin connected to the Afghan Trading Company.
Jr NTR’s Intense Luger Role Grabs Attention
The glimpse introduces a world set around the opium trade, shifting the story to 1967, where rival trading groups fight for power. Rukmini Vasanth’s narration gives the video a mythological and dramatic tone, while Jr NTR’s blood-soaked entry has created strong buzz among fans. His rugged look, aggressive screen presence, and dark characterisation have become the biggest highlights of the promo.
Why Dragon Glimpse Divided Fans
While many viewers praised the scale, world-building, and Jr NTR’s transformation, another section felt that Dragon looked visually similar to Prashanth Neel’s earlier films KGF and Salaar. The smoky frames, dark colour palette, slow-motion hero shots, heavy background score, and intense narration triggered debate over whether Neel is repeating his familiar style.
Prashanth Neel Defends His Vision
Responding to the criticism, Prashanth Neel said his films may appear similar visually, but their emotions are different. He added that Dragon is not about building a brand, but about telling the story in the way it demands. Neel also hinted that the film could become one of the most patriotic films ever made. Dragon is expected to release on June 11, 2027.
