Stroustrup said AI-generated code can often contain bugs, security holes, and bloated sections that make software harder to maintain. According to Stroustrup, senior developers are facing extra pressure because they must carefully check AI-written code before it can be trusted. He said some experienced coders may even prefer retirement instead of dealing with repeated AI code validation. Unlike human-written changes, which are often easier to trace, AI-generated changes can be unpredictable and harder to review.
