IIT Madras has invited applications for its web-enabled MTech and postgraduate diploma courses for the 2026 admission cycle. Interested candidates can apply till May 31 through the IIT Madras CODE portal. The programmes are designed for graduates and working professionals who want to continue higher education without leaving their jobs. For MTech courses, candidates must have a relevant educational qualification along with at least two years of work experience. The postgraduate diploma courses are open to graduates, including freshers.

Flexible Learning For Career Growth

The web-enabled format allows students to attend live online classes, generally during evenings or weekends. This makes the courses suitable for professionals who want to upgrade their technical knowledge while managing work responsibilities. Entrance examinations for the programmes are expected to be held in June and July 2026. Classes are likely to begin in August or September 2026. The flexible learning model is expected to help learners gain advanced skills from IIT Madras without relocating or taking a career break.

MTech And PG Diploma Options

The courses offer multiple entry and exit options for learners. Students can begin with a postgraduate diploma and later choose whether to complete the diploma or continue towards the MTech degree.
