Iran has stated that the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil transport, will remain open for select countries, including India, despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The strait is crucial for international trade, handling a significant portion of the world’s oil shipments.
According to Abbas Araghchi, Iran has not fully closed the passage, countering some reports suggesting otherwise. He noted that shipping activities are continuing under monitored conditions to ensure stability and the smooth flow of essential goods.
Iran has reportedly allowed safe passage for vessels from countries such as China, Russia, Pakistan, and Iraq, along with India. At the same time, restrictions may apply to ships linked to countries involved in the conflict, including the United States and Israel.
