Niharika Konidela’s Pink Elephant Pictures, in association with Maximum City Studios, is producing Pocket Rockets, an urban drama written and directed by Rudra Atri. The film follows a brilliant student from an underprivileged background whose dream of studying abroad leads him into the dangerous world of gambling. Filming has wrapped, and the project is now in post-production.
A Student’s Dream Draws Him into Gambling
At the centre of Pocket Rockets is a young man determined to build a better future through education. His ambition to study abroad, however, is constrained by his financial circumstances. When gambling appears to offer a possible way forward, he is pulled into a high-risk environment and comes under the influence of a manipulative gambling shark.
The film’s premise brings together aspiration, financial pressure and personal vulnerability. As the student’s choices carry him deeper into the gambling world, his ambition is tested against the risks he has taken and the people seeking to influence him. The makers have kept further plot details under wraps, leaving the central conflict as the main glimpse of the story so far.
Trinadh Varma, Nirmal and Shriya Kontham Lead the Cast
Trinadh Varma, known for Committee Kurrollu, and debutant Nirmal headline the film. Shriya Kontham, recognised for Shubham, plays the female lead, while JD Chakravarthy appears in a pivotal role. The cast brings together emerging performers and an established screen presence for a story set against contemporary urban life.
Pocket Rockets is produced by Padmaja Konidela, Rahul Raghavendra and Rahul Nimmakuri, with Ramesh Manyam serving as executive producer. The film is backed by Pink Elephant Pictures in association with Maximum City Studios, marking another production from Niharika Konidela’s banner.
