TFCC Chairman Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud has announced that popular actress Indraja has been appointed as the Jury Chairperson for the TFCC Short Film Festival Awards 2026. The announcement was made during a press meet held in Hyderabad, where the organizers shared details about the festival, jury panel, categories, prizes and submission deadline.
The TFCC Short Film Festival Awards 2026 was recently announced with the aim of encouraging young filmmakers, artists, technicians and content creators who are looking for the right platform to showcase their talent. According to Dr. Ramakrishna Goud, the festival has already received a strong response from aspiring filmmakers since its announcement.
A Platform For New Filmmakers
Speaking about the purpose of the event, Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud said that many talented youngsters enter the film industry every day with big dreams, but not everyone gets a proper stage to present their creativity. He said TFCC is organizing this festival to support such emerging talent and give them recognition through a reputed platform.
He added that the awards will be presented to the top five winners in nearly 30 categories. Cash prizes will also be given to the top three winners, with ₹10,000 for first place, ₹7,500 for second place and ₹5,000 for third place. The categories will cover different departments and will include opportunities for both men and women.
Free Entries Open Until June 13
One of the major highlights of the TFCC Short Film Festival Awards 2026 is that participation is completely free. The organizers confirmed that no entry fee is being charged from participants. The last date for submitting short films is June 13.
Dr. Ramakrishna Goud also invited Telugu filmmakers living in other states, including Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to take part in the competition. He said the festival is open to talented Telugu creators beyond Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as well. The grand awards ceremony will be held on June 21 at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad.
Indraja Encourages Aspiring Talent
Actress Indraja expressed happiness over being associated with the TFCC Short Film Festival Awards 2026. She said Dr. Ramakrishna Goud is doing commendable work by creating opportunities for new talent and supporting artists through TFCC. She added that when she was approached for the responsibility of Jury Chairperson, she gladly accepted it.
Indraja said creating good content is important, but presenting it through the right platform is equally necessary. According to her, when short films are showcased through an organization like TFCC, they can reach industry professionals and get better recognition. Music director Bhole Shavali has joined the festival as a jury member. Speaking at the event, he said Dr. Ramakrishna Goud has been a strong pillar of support for many artists through TFCC. He expressed happiness over being part of the TFCC Short Film Festival Awards 2026 and encouraged filmmakers to participate in large numbers.
He also said that actress Indraja’s presence as Jury Chairperson will add more credibility and value to the awards.
