ISRO VSSC Apprentice Walk-In 2026 for 460 Posts on July 25
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre will conduct a walk-in selection drive in Thiruvananthapuram on July 25, 2026, for 460 Graduate and Technician Apprentice training positions. Candidates will be shortlisted on academic marks and eligibility.

One-Year Apprentice Training Announced at VSSC
Thiruvananthapuram, July 22, 2026: Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, or VSSC, has invited eligible Indian nationals to participate in its apprentice selection drive for the 2026–27 training year.
The programme is being offered under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and will continue for one year from the date of joining. Applications will be accepted only at the walk-in venue on July 25. There is no advanced online application process mentioned in the notification.
VSSC Apprentice Vacancy and Stipend Details
The official notification lists 273 Graduate Apprentice positions and 187 Technician Apprentice positions, taking the total to 460.
Graduate Apprentice vacancies cover aeronautical, chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, electronics, mechanical, metallurgy, production, and fire and safety engineering. Positions are also available for hotel management graduates and non-engineering graduates.
Technician Apprentice positions are available in automobile, chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering. Diploma holders in Commercial Practice can also participate.
Graduate Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300, while Technician Apprentices will receive ₹10,900 per month.
VSSC Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
Engineering graduates must hold a recognised B.E. or B. Tech degree in the relevant discipline with at least 65% marks or 6.84 CGPA.
Hotel Management or Catering Technology applicants need a first-class degree with at least 60% marks. Non-engineering applicants need a three-year bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks or 6.32 CGPA.
Technician Apprentice applicants must possess a first-class, three-year engineering diploma from a recognised State Board of Technical Education. Commercial Practice applicants require a three-year diploma with at least 6.32 CGPA.
Candidates are not eligible when they:
Obtained their qualifying degree or diploma before April 2022.
Are you appearing for the final examination or awaiting results?
Are currently pursuing M.E. or M.Tech.
Have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training.
Possess one year or more of relevant work experience.
Applicants who have completed five years after obtaining the required qualification will also not be considered. Preference will be given to candidates from institutions under the BOAT Southern Region, covering Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry.
Age Limit as of July 31, 2026
For Graduate Apprentice positions, the upper age limit is 28 years for UR, 31 years for OBC, and 33 years for SC and ST candidates.
For engineering diploma Technician Apprentices, the limits are 30 years for UR, 33 years for OBC, and 35 years for SC and ST candidates.
Commercial Practice diploma holders have upper limits of 26 years for UR, 29 years for OBC, and 31 years for SC and ST candidates. Additional relaxation is available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities according to category.

Applications will be issued at the venue after officials examine the candidate’s qualifications and supporting records. The completed form must then be submitted with copies of the required certificates.
Documents Required for VSSC Apprentice Walk-In
Applicants must carry original documents and self-attested copies of:
B.E., B.Tech, Hotel Management, non-engineering degree or diploma certificate
Consolidated marksheet for the qualifying course
SSLC, SSC, AISSE, or ICSE certificate as proof of date of birth
Experience certificate, when applicable
One recent passport-size photograph
SC and ST candidates must bring a valid community or caste certificate issued by the Tahsildar. OBC candidates require a valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed Government of India format.
EWS applicants must carry an Income and Asset Certificate valid for the financial year 2026–27. PwBD applicants need a disability certificate issued by a competent authority.
VSSC Apprentice Selection Process
The notification does not prescribe a written examination or interview. Candidates will be ranked according to the highest marks obtained in the relevant qualifying examination, with applicable weightage for reserved categories.
Final induction will depend on the candidate’s position in the selection panel, the availability of training positions, and the validity of the panel. Document scrutiny will be conducted during the walk-in process.
Candidates should enrol on the Ministry of Education’s NATS 2.0 portal. Selected applicants will subsequently be registered under an apprenticeship contract after induction.
Completion of the one-year apprenticeship will not provide any automatic right to permanent employment at VSSC, ISRO, or another Department of Space centre. Candidates must arrange their own accommodation, although an approved canteen and transport facilities will be available during training.
