New Hindi Movie Review : Vadh 2

New Hindi Movie Review : Vadh 2

Plot

Set within a prison, Vadh 2 follows Shambhunath Mishra, a widowed jail officer whose life takes a turn when a dreaded criminal, Bhuri Bhaiya, mysteriously disappears. As Shambhunath forms a quiet bond with inmate Manju Mishra—wrongfully imprisoned—the case escalates, drawing Inspector Ateet Singh into an investigation layered with secrets and moral dilemmas.

Overview

Despite a promising premise, Vadh 2 struggles to match the tension of its predecessor. The prison setting and performances lift the film, but a predictable storyline, inconsistent pacing, and muted suspense dilute its impact, making the thriller feel restrained rather than gripping.

Performances

Sanjay Mishra anchors the film with a grounded, sincere portrayal of Shambhunath, carrying emotional weight even when the script falters. Neena Gupta delivers a dignified, compelling performance as Manju Mishra. Kumud Mishra adds gravitas as Inspector Prakash Singh, while Yogita Bihani brings vulnerability; the supporting cast performs capably within limited scope.

Technical Aspects

Sapan Narula’s cinematography effectively captures the claustrophobic prison environment. However, uneven editing disrupts momentum, particularly in the latter half, blunting the film’s suspense.

Music

Advait Nemlekar’s background score maintains intermittent tension, but Rochak Kohli’s songs fail to leave a lasting impression or elevate key moments.

Editing

Inconsistent pacing hampers the narrative—scenes linger unnecessarily early on, while crucial plot points feel rushed later, resulting in an uneven flow.

Positives

  • Strong lead performances
  • Convincing prison atmosphere
  • A few engaging twists

Negatives

  • Predictable narrative
  • Uneven pacing and editing
  • Screenplay lacks urgency
  • Unmemorable music

Analysis

Vadh 2 offers an intriguing setup and solid acting but leans too heavily on performances to compensate for a restrained screenplay and direction. The film underscores how difficult it is to sustain suspense in a sequel without sharper writing and tighter execution.

Bottomline : Predictable Thriller

Rating : 2.5/5
