Bhogi’s first single, “Egili Varanga,” introduces audiences to its 1960s Telangana setting, pairing folk music with period visuals and a glimpse of Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran in their roles.
Egili Varanga Introduces Bhogi’s Musical World
The makers of Bhogi, starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran, have released the film’s first single, “Egili Varanga.” Written and directed by Sampath Nandi, the film is produced by KK Radhamohan on a grand scale and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 12. Following the teaser, which focused on the story’s emotions and struggles, the song offers a closer look at the world its characters inhabit. It brings the film’s music and cultural setting into focus as promotions continue ahead of its release.
Period Visuals Recreate 1960s Telangana
Set against the backdrop of Telangana in the 1960s, “Egili Varanga” showcases the attention given to Bhogi’s visual presentation. The sets, artwork and imagery work together to recreate the period and establish a distinctive atmosphere. These details give viewers a sense of the surroundings that shape the story, while keeping the regional setting central to the song. The single expands on the glimpse offered by the teaser, introducing the film’s world through its visual design and musical expression.
Sharwanand and Anupama Fit the Setting
Sharwanand appears in a rugged, de-glam look that suits the film’s period backdrop. His appearance and performance in the song provide a glimpse of his character, complementing the emotions introduced in the teaser. Anupama Parameswaran also looks convincing in her role, with both actors fitting naturally into the recreated setting. Their presence adds to the song’s appeal and offers audiences an early look at how the lead characters are presented within Sampath Nandi’s narrative.
Folk Music Celebrates Telangana’s Roots
Bheems Ceciroleo’s composition and Chandrabose’s lyrics draw on Telangana’s folk traditions, with folk singers contributing to the song’s regional flavour. The music, words and vocals come together to reflect the culture and roots of the film’s setting. Alongside the period visuals, this musical approach gives “Egili Varanga” a clear connection to the world of Bhogi. With its first single now released, the film continues building anticipation for its November 12 theatrical arrival.
