It shows Rashmika Mandanna, producer Bunny Vasu and Rockline Venkatesh visiting the family of late Carnatic music icon M.S. Subbulakshmi at a temple. The meeting took place as preparations for the prestigious biopic gathered momentum. The makers described the visit as a heartfelt occasion filled with love, respect and gratitude, while thanking the singer’s family for extending unconditional support to the project.

Biopic Launched on Singer’s Birth Anniversary
MS: A Legacy On Screen was officially launched on M.S. Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary. Rashmika Mandanna will portray the Bharat Ratna recipient in the pan-India biopic, directed by Jersey filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film is jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vasu, while Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music. Kamal Haasan attended the launch as the chief guest and gave the first clap, formally beginning the film’s production journey.

Rashmika Embraces a Major Responsibility
Speaking at the launch, Rashmika described the opportunity to portray M.S. Subbulakshmi as a matter of pride, gratitude and immense responsibility. She promised to give her best to honour the singer’s extraordinary life and musical legacy. Kamal Haasan compared the pressure of playing M.S. Subbulakshmi to portraying a globally recognised cultural figure such as Michael Jackson. He also praised the singer’s multilingual repertoire and its ability to connect people across regions. Alongside the biopic, Rashmika has completed her portions for Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali and is currently working on Mysaa and Allu Arjun’s Raaka.
