Rashmika Mandanna will portray Bharat Ratna recipient M.S. Subbulakshmi in an ambitious pan-India biopic directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Kamal Haasan inaugurated the project at Chennai’s Music Academy.

The project is jointly backed by leading producers Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vas, with Gowtam Tinnanuri directing the film and Anirudh Ravichander composing its music.
Kamal Haasan Gives the First Clap
Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan attended the launch as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the film. He gave the first clap for Rashmika Mandanna’s opening scene, marking the beginning of the highly anticipated production. His presence added significance to the occasion, which brought together celebrated names from Indian cinema to honour one of the country’s most respected musical icons. The ceremony was held during the commemoration of M.S. Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary, making the moment even more meaningful for the cast and crew.
