The makers of Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka have confirmed that the film will release worldwide on January 13, 2027. The announcement ends postponement rumours triggered by reports that Vishwambhara may also target Sankranthi.
Kaaka Release Date Reconfirmed
Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Kaaka remains firmly scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 13, 2027. The production team issued an official clarification after reports suggested that the movie might be postponed to accommodate Chiranjeevi’s delayed socio-fantasy project Vishwambhara during the same festival period. The makers stated that Kaaka will arrive as planned for Sankranthi 2027 and also revealed that the film’s first single will be released soon.
Director Bobby Dismisses Delay Rumours
Director Bobby reinforced the announcement by declaring that there were no doubts or delays surrounding the project. Kaaka is particularly important for the filmmaker, who previously delivered the successful Waltair Veerayya with Chiranjeevi. The director is reportedly working to complete production within the required schedule and ensure that the film is ready for its announced festival release. The renewed confirmation has reassured fans and strengthened expectations around Chiranjeevi’s Sankranthi arrival.
First Glimpse Introduces Chiranjeevi as K Satyam
Kaaka has already generated considerable interest through its first promotional glimpse. The video introduced Chiranjeevi as K Satyam, a supervisor working in the aqua industry, before moving into a flashback that presented a younger, more stylish and action-oriented version of the character. The contrast between the two looks has created curiosity about the film’s storyline and timeline. Anaswara Rajan is also part of the cast and has been introduced as Ammulu Paapa.
Vishwambhara Release Plans Remain Unclear
The clarification comes amid unconfirmed reports that Vishwambhara may also be aiming for the Sankranthi 2027 window, partly because its release timing could affect the film’s OTT agreement. Such a move could place two Chiranjeevi films in the same festive period, but the Vishwambhara team has not officially announced a Sankranthi date. Directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations, Vishwambhara is a VFX-heavy socio-fantasy adventure starring Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor and Ashika Ranganath. Unless an official change is announced, Kaaka remains locked for January 13, 2027, while Vishwambhara’s theatrical plans are still uncertain.
