The modestly budgeted devotional drama Hanuman Ansh continues its remarkable theatrical run, collecting Rs 8.25 crore nett in India on Day 40 and outperforming several major Hindi films at the same stage.
Hanuman Ansh Maintains Strong Momentum on Day 40
While most films lose screens and audiences after a few weeks, Hanuman Ansh is continuing to draw moviegoers well into its sixth week. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film collected Rs 8.25 crore nett in India on its 40th day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the collection came from 9,175 shows across the country. The strong late-run performance has drawn attention because films usually earn only a small fraction of their opening-day collections by this stage.
Worldwide Collection Approaches Rs 300 Crore
With its Day 40 earnings included, Hanuman Ansh has reached an India nett collection of Rs 231.13 crore and an India gross of Rs 272.90 crore. The film also collected Rs 2 crore overseas on Day 40, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 18.50 crore. Its worldwide gross now stands at Rs 291.40 crore, bringing it close to the Rs 300 crore milestone. The numbers are especially significant for a film that arrived without the scale, star power or promotional campaign generally associated with major commercial releases.
Day 40 Collection Surpasses Major Hindi Films
The film’s Rs 8.25 crore India nett collection on Day 40 is significantly higher than the corresponding figures recorded by several successful Hindi movies. Dhurandhar earned Rs 2.60 crore on its 40th day, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan collected Rs 2.55 crore. Chhaava and URI: The Surgical Strike recorded Rs 1.40 crore and Rs 1.38 crore respectively. These figures do not compare opening-day performances but show how strongly each film continued after the initial excitement had faded. In that context, the sustained audience interest in Hanuman Ansh makes its theatrical journey particularly unusual.
From Rs 10 Lakh Opening to a Nationwide Success
Made on a reported budget of nearly Rs 2 crore, Hanuman Ansh began its run with an opening collection of just Rs 10 lakh. The devotional drama, centred on Neem Karoli Baba, gradually gained attention through positive word of mouth and audience recommendations. Its growing popularity helped the film secure additional shows and remain in theatres despite competition from newer releases such as Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan. Starring Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in important roles, the film has emerged as one of the year’s biggest sleeper successes. Following its impressive Hindi run, Hanuman Ansh is now preparing for its Telugu theatrical release on September 18.
