S. S. Rajamouli’s upcoming mega film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is progressing steadily with major portions of the shoot already completed.

The film Varanasi is being directed by S. S. Rajamouli and is shaping up as one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. During his visit to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, Rajamouli revealed that the major IMAX action sequences have already been successfully wrapped.

According to the latest updates, only a few crucial connecting scenes remain before the film moves into the post-production stage. The film stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles, making it one of the most star-studded collaborations in recent times.

Varanasi is also being touted as the first Indian film to be shot entirely in premium IMAX format, blending mythology, action, and fantasy across multiple timelines and global locations. The film is produced by KL Narayana and is currently on track for a grand worldwide release on April 7, 2027, with shooting expected to conclude before October.
