Gayapadda Simham Title Revealed: Tarun Bhascker’s Political Satire Gears Up
Filmmaker Tarun Bhascker, known for entertaining audiences with unconventional cinema, is teaming up once again with writer-director Kashyap Srinivas for a fresh and unique project. The film is being presented by Pawan Sadineni, who is currently directing Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasamlo Oka Tara. Produced by Kalyan Chakravarthy Manthina, Bhanu Kiran Pratap, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal under the banners Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios, the makers officially revealed the film’s title today with a striking poster.
Titled Gayapadda Simham (The Wounded Lion), the poster strongly conveys the film’s mood and backdrop. Designed with bold red-and-white American-style visuals, the artwork features stars and vertical stripes reminiscent of the US flag, along with a speeding airplane and passport stamp—hinting at an adventurous, satirical narrative. Elements such as a revolver, a caricature resembling Donald Trump, and a Nataraja compass box add layers of intrigue, suggesting a political satire blended with crime and dark humor. The tagline “Don’t laugh! This is a very serious matter!” further amplifies the film’s quirky tone. The makers also announced that the teaser will be released on February 9.
The film stars Faria Abdullah and Manasa Chowdary as the female leads, with Vishnu Oi, Harshavardhan, and Subhalekha Sudhakar playing key roles. Technically, the film is backed by Vidyasagar Chinta as cinematographer, Sweekar Agasthi as music director, Viplav Nyshadham as editor, and Chandrika Gorrepati handling production design, with story by Surya Prakash Jyothula. The shoot is almost complete, with just one song left to be filmed.
