Jio Platforms IPO May Open October 21, Listing Likely October 28

Jio Platforms Eyes October IPO Launch

Jio Platforms is preparing to launch its initial public offering on October 21, with shares likely to begin trading on October 28, Reuters reported, citing two sources. The Reliance Industries-owned digital services business aims to raise approximately $3.8 billion.

The proposed timetable remains subject to a formal announcement. Reuters said Reliance declined to comment on the IPO plans. If completed at the reported size, the offering would exceed Hyundai Motor India’s $2.9 billion IPO in 2024.

Overseas Roadshows Draw Investor Attention

The company has completed overseas investor roadshows across the United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore, according to the supplied report, which cites PTI. Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani led the meetings as Jio assessed demand ahead of its proposed public-market debut.

Banking sources cited in the report suggested a base enterprise valuation of $143 billion to $146 billion. That figure is an indicative enterprise valuation, rather than a confirmed IPO price or equity market capitalisation.

An India roadshow is expected during the week beginning October 12, following the filing of the red herring prospectus. The document should provide greater clarity on the offering’s structure, financial disclosures and subscription arrangements.

Debt Repayment Expected to Be a Priority

Most of the funds raised are expected to support repayment of debt owed by Jio’s telecom division, according to the supplied report. The final offer documents will establish the stated use of proceeds and the amounts allocated to each purpose.

Jio Platforms brings together telecom operations and digital businesses spanning artificial intelligence, cloud services and enterprise networks. Its overseas investors include Meta and Google.

These businesses form an important part of the company’s investment story. However, reported interest during roadshows does not establish the eventual subscription level or how the shares will perform after listing.

Final Offer Details Remain in Focus

The proposed launch comes during an active period for India’s primary market. Companies raised record equity funding in the April–September period, while a substantial pipeline of public offerings remains, according to reporting based on PRIME Database figures.

For prospective applicants, the next key development will be the release of Jio’s formal offer details. The price band, lot size, subscription closing date and allocation terms should be checked against the prospectus and official announcements.

Until those details are published, October 21 and October 28 should be treated as reported targets. The proposed offering’s scale and investor roadshows have placed Jio Platforms among the most closely watched IPO developments of the month.
