Nara Lokesh Seeks Korean Telugu Support To Boost Andhra Pradesh Investments
VIJAYAWADA/SEOUL, July 7, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Minister for HRD and IT Nara Lokesh has urged the Telugu community in South Korea to support the State’s investment push by promoting Andhra Pradesh as a reliable destination for global industries.
Addressing Telugu diaspora members in Seoul during his South Korea visit, Lokesh said overseas Telugus could play an important role as “brand ambassadors” by highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s business opportunities, investor-friendly policies, and faster approval system. Reports said he encouraged them to connect Korean companies with the State’s emerging industrial and technology sectors.
AP Eyes Stronger South Korea Investment Ties
Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is ready to work with South Korean firms in key sectors such as information technology, electronics, semiconductors, mobility, battery technologies, green hydrogen, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
He noted that South Korea’s growth as a global manufacturing and technology hub offers useful lessons for Andhra Pradesh as the State works to expand industrial development and create employment opportunities.
Kia Plant Cited As Success Model
The Minister referred to Kia’s manufacturing presence in Andhra Pradesh as an example of successful cooperation between the State and South Korean industry. He said the project showed how transparent governance, infrastructure support and timely approvals could help major companies establish operations and build strong local ecosystems.
According to reports, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh wants to create more “Kia-like” success stories by attracting fresh Korean investments across technology and manufacturing sectors.
Telugu Diaspora Asked To Act As Growth Partners
Lokesh said Telugu professionals living abroad have helped strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s global image through their achievements. He urged them to speak about the State’s opportunities while interacting with Korean entrepreneurs, business leaders, and investors.
He also said the State government is working to align higher education with industry needs so that students can gain advanced technical skills and become job-ready for new-age sectors.
AP Promotes 3S Model For Investors
Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh has regained investor confidence under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership through a governance model focused on Speed, Stability, and Service.
The State is positioning itself as a dependable partner for Korean companies looking to expand in India, especially in sectors linked to manufacturing, clean energy, electric mobility, and digital technology.
Why This Matters
The outreach comes at a time when Indian States are competing to attract global investments in semiconductors, EV components, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Andhra Pradesh is aiming to use its industrial base, skilled workforce, and diaspora network to bring more international companies to the State.
If the investment push gains momentum, it could help Andhra Pradesh generate jobs, improve industrial infrastructure, and strengthen India-South Korea business cooperation.
