A Fly91 flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi triggered panic among passengers after encountering severe weather conditions mid-air. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, shows visibly distressed passengers, with some seen crying and praying as the aircraft experienced turbulence and prolonged delays.
According to officials, the flight was unable to land at its scheduled destination due to heavy rainfall and poor visibility in Hubballi. The aircraft remained airborne for an extended period as the crew monitored conditions and awaited a possible landing window. However, when weather conditions failed to improve, the pilot decided to divert the flight to Bengaluru in accordance with standard aviation safety protocols.
Passengers on board reported heightened anxiety during the holding period. The viral footage captures emotional reactions inside the cabin, with several travellers expressing fear while others attempted to reassure fellow passengers. The airline later clarified that there was no technical issue with the aircraft and confirmed that the diversion was carried out purely as a precautionary measure. Fly91 emphasized that all safety procedures were strictly followed and that passengers were never at risk at any point during the flight.
The aircraft landed safely in Bengaluru, where passengers were either deboarded or later transported to Hubballi once weather conditions improved. Officials reiterated that such diversions are a routine safety practice during adverse weather and are undertaken solely to ensure passenger safety. Authorities further confirmed that all passengers were safe and that the crew handled the situation professionally in line with standard operating procedures.
