Campaigning for the 2026 Assembly Elections has intensified as political leaders make their final push ahead of the voting phase. In West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed multiple rallies, targeting the state government and raising concerns over law and order.
During one such rally, Shah alleged that women in the state have faced serious challenges under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He emphasised that ensuring women’s safety remains a key issue in the ongoing campaign and promised strict action against crimes if his party comes to power.
Meanwhile, political activity remained high across regions, with leaders from various parties holding rallies to connect with voters. The campaign period is set to conclude ahead of the mandatory silence phase, after which polling will take place in key constituencies.
Authorities have also reported isolated incidents of clashes between party supporters during campaign events, with measures taken to maintain law and order. As voting day approaches, attention now turns to the electorate, with parties awaiting the outcome of this crucial phase of the elections.
