Pune Fiance Death Case Reopens as Murder Investigation
On June 18, 2026, a 26-year-old Pune-based businessman, Ketan Vishal Agarwal, was found dead after falling nearly 400 feet from Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra. The incident was initially registered as an accidental death, but later developments led police to reopen the case as a suspected murder.
Ketan, a resident of Gahunje and involved in a family-run real estate business, had visited the fort with his fiancée Siya Goyal. The couple was reportedly planning to get married later in the year, with wedding arrangements already in progress. However, inconsistencies in the initial account of the incident raised suspicion among investigators.
Instagram Story and Digital Evidence Under Investigation
After the incident, Siya Goyal allegedly posted an emotional Instagram story expressing grief and confusion over Ketan’s sudden death. This post has now become part of the digital evidence being examined by Pune Rural Police.
According to investigators, Siya was also reportedly in a relationship with another individual, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary. Police suspect that this relationship may have played a role in a planned conspiracy, with Ketan allegedly being seen as an obstacle.
Officials believe Siya may have lured Ketan to Lohagad Fort under the pretext of a casual outing, after which Chetan joined them at the location. Investigators allege that Ketan was pushed into the gorge and the scene was staged to appear like an accident.
Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested following interrogation and evidence collection. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and forensic analysis is ongoing.
Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage, mobile data, and social media activity to reconstruct the complete timeline of events and confirm motive, planning, and coordination between the accused.
