Actress and producer Niharika Konidela visited Sri Mahankaleshwara Temple at Mir Alam Mandi in Hyderabad’s Old City during the Bonalu festivities and offered the traditional Bangaru Bonam to Goddess Mahankali. She was welcomed by the temple priests with Purna Kumbham before taking part in special prayers amid Vedic chants. After the darshan, the temple authorities felicitated her as part of the visit. Temple Chairman Gajula Anjaiah also explained the history of the temple and briefed her about the significance, customs and traditions associated with the Bonalu celebrations conducted there.
Shooting Schedule Delayed Her Bonalu Visit
Speaking to the media, Niharika said she had wanted to visit the temple on the main Bonalu day but could not do so because of a shooting commitment. She therefore chose to visit later to seek the blessings of Goddess Mahankali. Niharika shared that although she was born and raised in Hyderabad, she had always been fascinated by the sight of women carrying Bonams in traditional attire during the festival. She recalled recently expressing a wish that someone would take her to Bonalu and said she was surprised that the opportunity came so quickly, describing it as a blessing from the Goddess.
Niharika Calls Darshan Peaceful and Spiritually Fulfilling
Reflecting on her temple experience, Niharika said the atmosphere was deeply peaceful and spiritually satisfying. She spoke about the powerful presence of the Goddess and said the radiance of the idol left a strong impression on her. The actress-producer also expressed hope that she would get another opportunity to return to the temple and seek the Goddess’s blessings again.
