Pushpa 2 Stampede Case: Court Summons Allu Arjun, Others
A Hyderabad court has issued summons to actor Allu Arjun and others in connection with the Pushpa 2 stampede case linked to the Sandhya Theatre tragedy.
The court has directed the accused to appear in person on June 22. The development comes after Hyderabad police filed a charge sheet against 23 persons in the case.
Allu Arjun Named As Accused No. 11
According to the case details, Allu Arjun has been named as accused No. 11 in the charge sheet. The theatre owner, partners, manager, lower-balcony in-charge, and gatekeeper have also been named among the accused.
The case relates to the stampede that took place during the premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, 2024.
Woman Died, Child Injured In Stampede
A 35-year-old woman died, and her eight-year-old son was injured in the stampede. The incident occurred when a large number of fans gathered near the theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the film’s premiere.
Following the incident, police registered a case against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management based on a complaint filed by the woman’s family.
Police Filed Charge Sheet Against 23 Persons
Hyderabad police later filed a charge sheet before the court, naming 23 persons in connection with the case. After examining the charge sheet, the court issued a summons to the accused and directed them to appear before it.
Allu Arjun was earlier arrested in the case on December 13, 2024. He was released the next day after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail. He later received regular bail.
