EB-1, EB-2 And EB-5 Updates For Indian Green Card Applicants
US June Visa Bulletin Released
The U.S. Department of State has released the June 2026 Visa Bulletin, giving the latest update on immigrant visa availability, final action dates, and dates for filing applications. The bulletin is important for employment-based green card applicants from India, especially those waiting under EB-1, EB-2, and EB-5 categories.
According to the bulletin, Indian applicants did not receive major relief in key employment-based categories. High demand and heavy visa number usage have forced the government to move some final action dates backward to stay within the FY 2026 annual limits.
EB-1 And EB-2 See Retrogression
India saw significant retrogression in employment-based final action dates. EB-1 moved back from April 1, 2023, in the May bulletin to December 15, 2022, in June. EB-2 faced a sharper rollback, moving from July 15, 2014, to September 1, 2013.
However, EB-3 and EB-3 Other Workers moved forward by one month each, from November 15, 2013, to December 15, 2013. EB-5 Unreserved remained unchanged as of May 1, 2022.
EB-5 And Filing Dates Update
The bulletin warned that EB-5 Unreserved for Indians may also face retrogression or become unavailable next month if demand rises further. Meanwhile, EB-5 set-aside categories, including Rural, High Unemployment, and Infrastructure, remained current for India.
For Dates for Filing, there was no movement for India. EB-1 stayed at December 1, 2023, while EB-2 and EB-3 remained at January 15, 2015.
