Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is the organising body behind one of India’s most iconic and widely attended public Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, centred around the revered Lalbaugcha Raja idol of Lord Ganesha that draws millions of devotees each year with its reputation for fulfilling wishes. Founded in 1934 by local fishermen and traders at Lalbaug Market, the mandal manages the annual 10‑day festival with grand rituals, ceremonial unveilings, and darshan arrangements—including special queues for Navsachi (touching the feet) and Mukhdarshan (face view)—before the idol’s immersion in the Arabian Sea at Girgaon Chowpatty on Anant Chaturdashi, while also engaging in community welfare efforts beyond the festival.
