Swachagraha Kalika Kendra, located in HSR Layout, is a community volunteering space focused on cleaner city practices and solid waste management. Known as India’s first learning centre for solid waste management, SGKK brings together sustainability practitioners, students and volunteers who want hands-on experience in waste reduction and environmental action.
Volunteers can take part in compost harvesting, sieving and processing compost, plogging to pick up dry litter, and resource recovery activities such as de-stringing garlands and recovering reusable items. The opportunity is especially useful for college students looking to complete 60–80 hours of volunteering in Bangalore, as certificates are provided.
