Sardar Sarvai Papanna Trailer Launched, Film Releases August 21

The Sardar Sarvai Papanna animated movie release is set for August 21, bringing the story of legendary Bahujan warrior Sardar Sarvai Papanna to Telugu audiences. The film’s trailer was launched by Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, ahead of its theatrical release through RK Films.

Ponnam Prabhakar Launches Sardar Sarvai Papanna Trailer

The much-awaited Sardar Sarvai Papanna trailer was officially unveiled by Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Speaking at the event, the minister praised the filmmakers for bringing the life and struggles of Sardar Sarvai Papanna to the screen and preserving an important chapter of Telangana and Bahujan history for younger generations.

Ponnam Prabhakar described Papanna as a courageous warrior who fought with the vision of establishing a Bahujan kingdom and believed that people should have the right to govern themselves. He recalled Papanna’s military campaigns, including his advance towards Golconda Fort, and said his journey continues to inspire people today. The minister also announced that a statue of Sardar Sarvai Papanna would be unveiled at Tank Bund on August 18.

RK Films Plans Grand August 21 Telugu Release

The historical Telugu animated movie has been directed and produced by Venkatesh Goud Lingampalli under VG Movie Makers, with Deepak Nyathi serving as production supervisor. Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud’s RK Films will distribute the film across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Ramakrishna Goud said the team was honoured to have Ponnam Prabhakar launch the trailer. He confirmed that the Sardar Sarvai Papanna movie will arrive in theatres on August 21, coinciding with the 376th birth anniversary of the legendary warrior. He urged audiences to support the film, saying it portrays Papanna’s struggles and contribution to the Bahujan communities.

Film Highlights Sardar Papanna’s Fight Against Oppression

Director Venkatesh Goud Lingampalli said the film explores the exploitation faced by people in the Deccan during Aurangzeb’s period, when landlords, Jagirdars and Zamindars imposed heavy taxes on ordinary citizens. According to the filmmaker, Sardar Sarvai Papanna rose against this system and fought for people affected by oppression and excessive taxation.

He said Papanna challenged powerful rulers, built an independent administration and emerged as an important Bahujan warrior. The animated film aims to introduce his struggles, leadership and historical legacy to a new generation while presenting the story in an accessible cinematic format.

Makers Hope Historical Story Reaches Younger Audiences

Distributor Satyanarayana said RK Films Distribution is preparing a wide release across both Telugu states and expressed confidence that audiences will appreciate the unusual attempt to portray Papanna’s life through animation.

Production supervisor Deepak Nyathi added that Papanna united communities against exploitation and worked to reduce the burden placed on common people. With its combination of Bahujan history, Telugu animation and a historical narrative, Sardar Sarvai Papanna is expected to offer audiences a cinematic look at the life of a warrior whose resistance and leadership remain part of Telangana’s historical memory.
