CULT, the upcoming slasher film starring, written and directed by Mass Ka Das Vishwaksen, is scheduled to open in theatres on October 30. Ahead of the release, the makers have unveiled a new trailer that shifts the focus to the protagonist’s motivations, his move to Goa and the violent events that drive the story.
Sankalp Nayak’s Mission in Goa:
The release trailer introduces DSP Sankalp Nayak, played by Vishwaksen, as a police officer who refuses to ignore the harassment of outsiders in Goa, particularly Telugu people. His decision to move to the state is presented as a response to the trouble faced by those communities. The trailer establishes his strong sense of justice while hinting that his personal involvement in the conflict may take him into dangerous territory.
A Dark Turn in the Trailer:
The footage begins by building the officer’s character and explaining what brings him to Goa, before gradually shifting towards a darker, more violent storyline. Its closing moments show a disturbing episode at a party and raise questions about the killings and the circumstances behind them. The trailer offers only glimpses of what happened, leaving the central mystery unresolved as the film approaches its release.
A Fierce New Avatar:
The latest trailer differs from the earlier one by giving more time to Sankalp’s personality, motivations and intense nature. Vishwaksen appears in a fierce, action-heavy role, using his screen presence to underline the character’s aggression. The makers also present the violence through a distinct visual style, suggesting that CULT will move beyond a conventional slasher setup.
Produced by Sandeep Kakarala under the Tarak Cinemas banner, the film features cinematography by Aravind Viswanathan and music by Ravi Basrur. Its promotional campaign has intensified ahead of the theatrical release. The latest footage points to a mix of character-driven conflict, high-impact action and unpredictable turns, while keeping key details of the story under wraps.
