418, the horror thriller presented by Prashanth Neel, will hold paid premiere shows on October 22, 2026, ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on October 23. The film, backed by Mythri Movie Makers, is set to release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. A new trailer, released on October 20, adds to the mystery surrounding Room No. 418.
418 Paid Premieres Set for October 22
The makers have announced that paid premiere shows will begin at 10:48 p.m. IST on October 22 in theatres equipped with Dolby Atmos sound systems. Written and directed by Kirtan Nadagouda, 418 was initially planned for a Telugu release. The rollout was later expanded to four languages following reportedly encouraging responses at special screenings, including interest from Hindi exhibitors.
418 Story: The Mystery Behind Room No. 418
The story is set around a medical college building that has remained sealed for 15 years. When it is reopened, unexplained incidents draw attention to Room No. 418 and the secret it may hold.
Eighteen-year-old Vivek, played by Surya Raj Veerabathini, struggles to distinguish reality from hallucination as events unfold. Chaithra Achar plays Devika, whose unsettling transformation adds to the trailer’s tension.
The story appears to blur the line between psychological and supernatural explanations, leaving audiences to question what is causing the disturbing events.
New 418 Trailer Builds Suspense
On October 20, Mythri Movie Makers released a new trailer titled 418 – The Nightmare Begins in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. It introduces further incidents connected to the building and strengthens the film’s supernatural atmosphere.
The dark visuals, ominous score and unsettling sequences suggest that the film is being promoted as a serious horror thriller. Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala and Shashank Patil also feature in the cast.
418 Release Delays and A Certificate
418 was first scheduled to release on July 31, then moved to September 18. Reports said the film faced objections during the CBFC certification process over its horror content and was referred to the Revising Committee. It later received an A certificate.
On September 15, the makers postponed the September release as they planned a wider multilingual rollout. October 23 was later confirmed as the new theatrical release date.
Prashanth Neel Presents Kirtan Nadagouda’s Horror Debut
Nadagouda previously worked as an assistant and co-director with Prashanth Neel, known for KGF and Salaar. Neel is presenting the film, which marks Mythri Movie Makers’ first venture into horror. Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar are producing it, with Anil Yerneni as co-producer.
With paid premieres scheduled for October 22 and a worldwide release the following day, 418 is heading to theatres as a horror-focused thriller. Audiences will find out after release whether its story and atmosphere deliver the sustained scares promised by the trailers.
