Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi has acquired the Jailer 2 Telugu rights for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Rajinikanth-starrer is scheduled to release in theatres today, October 15, 2026. With trade reports valuing the distribution deal at approximately ₹45–48 crore, the film's performance in the Telugu States has become a key focus.

Naga Vamsi Secures Jailer 2 Telugu Rights

Naga Vamsi, associated with Sithara Entertainments, has secured the theatrical distribution rights for Jailer 2 across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Distributors associated with Sithara are handling the film's release in the region. The deal reflects confidence in Rajinikanth's popularity among Telugu audiences and the commercial appeal of the Jailer franchise. However, the substantial reported investment also places considerable expectations on the sequel's theatrical performance.

Jailer 2 Telugu States Pre-Release Business

According to an October 14 report by Gulte, the Nizam distribution rights were valued at ₹20 crore on a non-recoverable advance (NRA) basis. Andhra business was reportedly concluded on a ₹20 crore ratio, while the Ceded territory was valued at ₹8 crore. These figures add up to approximately ₹48 crore. However, earlier reports from Hindustan Times Telugu and ABP Telugu estimated the Telugu States rights at ₹45 crore. The final contractual value has not been independently confirmed, and the reported regional arrangements do not all carry identical terms.

Advance Bookings and Rajinikanth's Star Power

An October 14 trade assessment described advance bookings in the Telugu States as relatively subdued. However, nationwide ticket sales have shown stronger momentum, with advance-booking trackers reporting substantial demand ahead of the release. The film also benefits from the success of the original Jailer, released in 2023. Rajinikanth's return as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and the popularity of Anirudh Ravichander's music remain major attractions.

Word of Mouth Crucial for Jailer 2

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 reunites Rajinikanth with the team behind the original blockbuster. With considerable distribution commitments in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sustained theatrical collections will be important. Positive audience reviews, strong weekend occupancy and repeat viewership could help the sequel build momentum. As Jailer 2 arrives in cinemas on October 15, its Telugu box-office performance will depend on whether franchise popularity translates into sustained audience demand.
