Vijay Deverakonda expressed strong confidence in Ranabaali at the film’s grand pre-release event in Hyderabad, praising director Rahul Sankrityan, producer Mythri Movie Makers, co-star Rashmika Mandanna and the story’s historical roots ahead of its October 16 worldwide release.

A Story Rooted in History and Folk Traditions

Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, is one of the festive season’s much-anticipated pan-India releases. Its trailer and promotional material have drawn attention to its period setting. At the Hyderabad pre-release event, Vijay said his confidence in the film came from the story’s foundation and Rahul Sankrityan’s vision.

Vijay described how Rahul researched rural traditions, folk narratives, jatara celebrations and accounts of local heroes while developing the project. That exploration led the director to lesser-known chapters of history, giving the film a wider purpose. Vijay said the combination of a compelling historical setting and a meaningful subject made the project especially exciting.

Vijay’s Confident Comeback Message

Known for his energetic and often bold speeches, Vijay returned to the stage with a strong message about his career and the film. “I had written a letter earlier about my comeback. When many were enjoying it, I said I will be back. When I said I will be back, be bloody sure I will be back,” he said.

The event also featured a clip from Vijay’s earlier speech during Taxiwaala, in which he had used the same words. By revisiting that moment, he pointed to his earlier promise and said he had returned as he said he would.

Praise for Rahul, Mythri Movie Makers and Rashmika

Vijay praised Rahul’s approach, saying the director does not make films merely to keep his career moving forward but sets out to tell great stories. He also credited Mythri Movie Makers for helping Telugu cinema reach a global audience, saying the production house backs stories it believes in and presents them on a grand scale. His remarks underscored the team’s shared belief in Ranabaali and its vision.

Vijay also spoke about Rashmika Mandanna’s growth and dedication, calling her the right choice for the female lead and for creating the intended impact alongside him. He recalled the memorable “Endhayya Saami” song by Ajay–Atul as well.

Worldwide Release on October 16

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is presented by T-Series and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. The period action film is scheduled to release worldwide on October 16. Vijay invited audiences to watch it in theatres and promised an epic cinematic experience.
