Husharu 2, the sequel to the 2018 youth entertainer, has been announced with an unusual poster. Returning writer-director Sree Harsha Konuganti brings a new friendship-driven story, with post-production underway and a year-end theatrical release being planned.
An Announcement Poster Packed With Clues
The makers have unveiled the Husharu 2 title alongside a poster filled with unexpected imagery. Kaboom beer, familiar from the first film, appears on a truck surrounded by a giant snake, with five friends caught in the middle. A turtle beneath the truck, a treasure chest overflowing with gold and a factory add to the eccentric setting. Together, these elements evoke Samudra Manthan, the legendary churning of the ocean by Devas and Asuras in search of Amrita. However, any connection between that imagery and the film’s story remains unexplained.
Five Friends Seek A Fresh Start After COVID
Friendship remains central to the sequel, which follows five ambitious friends trying to rebuild their lives after losing everything during COVID. Their search for a new opportunity leads them to Chittragunj, where they take up an unusual venture involving an agave-based tequila distillery. This premise introduces a different setting for the group’s journey while retaining the focus on friendship that defined the original. The makers have kept the larger plot under wraps, revealing only the starting point of the friends’ attempt to recover from their setbacks.
Sree Harsha Returns With An Ensemble Cast
Sree Harsha Konuganti, who wrote and directed Husharu, returns as writer-director for the sequel. The cast includes Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej and Sasidhar Kocharlakota. Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan also feature in the film. While details about their individual characters have yet to be revealed, the ensemble forms part of the unusual world introduced through the announcement poster. Further promotional material is expected to offer a clearer view of the characters and their place in the story.
Post-Production Underway Ahead Of Planned Release
Husharu 2 is produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy serving as co-producer. The film comes from Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations. Major shooting schedules have been completed, and the team is now working on post-production. A year-end theatrical release is being planned, although an exact date has not been announced. The upcoming teaser, first look and other promotional content are expected to reveal more about this new chapter.
