Pending Nandi Awards Set for November Presentation
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the long-awaited return of the Nandi Awards, one of Telugu cinema’s most respected recognitions. Selection Process Begins for 2017–2025 Awards
The state government is forming jury committees to evaluate entries and complete the selection process for the remaining years. For the period from 2017 to 2024, awards will reportedly be selected and presented year by year rather than combining all eligible works into a single edition. The 2025 Nandi Awards will also be considered during this process. Jury deliberations are expected to take place in November, with the winners for the 2017–2024 editions and the 2025 awards likely to be announced during the same month. Separate Ceremonies Planned for Film and Television
A grand ceremony for the Nandi Film Awards is being planned in either Amaravati or Vijayawada, while Tirupati has been selected to host the Nandi Television Awards. The main events are expected to take place in December 2026, following the completion of the selection and announcement process. Organising separate ceremonies for cinema and television will allow the government to recognise a wider range of creative talent while restoring the importance and visibility traditionally associated with the Nandi Awards.
