Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Dada is being developed as a commercial entertainer featuring action, drama, humour and dance. Director Gopichand Malineni has revealed fresh details about Kajal Aggarwal’s role, the supporting cast and the production ahead of its Christmas release.
Dada Builds Buzz After Its Title Glimpse
The title glimpse of Dada has generated strong interest by presenting Balakrishna in an intense, retro-styled mass avatar. Written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film is being designed as a complete theatrical entertainer. The promotional video hints at a powerful central character and a story driven by conflict, larger-than-life moments and commercial appeal. Malineni says the narrative will combine high-energy action with humour and emotion.
Kajal Aggarwal Brings Fresh Chemistry
Speaking about Kajal Aggarwal, Malineni said the actress responded warmly after hearing the story and readily joined the project. Although Kajal and Balakrishna previously appeared together in Bhagavanth Kesari, the director believes Dada will present their pairing in a different way. He promised fresh chemistry between the two stars, along with lively scenes and exciting dance performances. Their combination is expected to add glamour, humour and emotional warmth to the film’s intense world.
Powerful Supporting Cast Expands the Story
Dada also features an experienced ensemble cast. Veteran actors R Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani will appear in important roles that are expected to carry weight in the narrative. Manchu Manoj has been cast as the antagonist, setting up a major confrontation with Balakrishna’s character. The wider cast also includes Abhimanyu Singh, Upendra Limaye, Manish Wadhwa and Swasika, giving the project a broader scale and pan-Indian appeal.
Shoot Progresses Ahead of Christmas Release
Around 50 percent of the filming has reportedly been completed, with the remaining schedules expected to cover important action scenes, dramatic portions and songs. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, Dada features music by S Thaman and cinematography by Arvind Kashyap. The team is aiming to deliver a visually stylish film suited to Balakrishna’s mass image. Dada is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026, positioning it as a major Christmas-season attraction for Telugu cinema audiences.
